2019

Congratulations to our 2019 ROSE Awards winners and finalists!

The 25th anniversary of the ROSE Awards was a night to remember and we are grateful to have so many amazing ambassadors representing our region. Metro Detroit continues to thrive because of our hard working industry partners who are creating positive experiences causing visitors to come back again and again.

The winners were announced at the ROSE Awards Ceremony & Reception, which was held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel. The awards were presented by our mistress of ceremonies Glenda Lewis, WXYZ and Larry Alexander, President & CEO of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau. Attendees a wealth of entertainment including a music video to recognize this year’s nominees. Thank you to all who participated in the exciting 25th anniversary celebration of the ROSE Awards.

Overall Service Champion

Rebecca Sloan
The Fillmore Detroit
Nomination reason: The work and energy Rebecca Sloan brings to her job far exceeds her job title. She is nearly the youngest member of the office, yet she is the mother of the team, making sure everyone’s day is going smoothly, and if it isn’t she looks for ways to boost their spirits and make them smile. She has become involved in her venue’s community service program, including leading events from start to finish. When this person was diagnosed with breast cancer, she still put her coworkers and venue first, making sure everyone else was okay and putting processes in place to be sure her leave would be seamless. Her passion for life is an inspiration for us all. From her ability to care and ensure the highest level of guest services to patrons, to her genuine care to assist within the community and her humbling attitude for people not to worry about her. According to her boss, these are several of the great things that make her and ideal candidate for a ROSE Award.
